Batik is an ancient handcraft of wax-resist dyeing that originated almost 2000 years ago, in the city of JAVA (JAVA is the city of Indonesia). The word batik is derived from Javanese word “Amba” and “Tiktik”. From Indonesia, the fabric was exported to various other regions of the world.
